What is the authenticity of the hadith regarding the Prayer of Tasbih?

Question:
The brother F. K. from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates says in his question: I read a fatwa from Your Eminence some time ago in the Arab magazine that the hadith regarding the Prayer of Tasbih is not authentic and that it is not permissible. After some time, I came across a hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah from Abu Rafi', in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to al-Abbas:
O uncle, shall I not give you a gift, shall I not benefit you, shall I not uphold my ties of kinship with you?يا عم ألا أحْبوك، ألا أنفعك، ألا أصلك
Sunan Ibn Majah 1386Sahih (Darussalam)
and so on. Shaykh Muhammad Nasir al-Albani has graded it as authentic, and it appears in al-Mishkat and in Sahih al-Targhib. I ask Your Eminence to kindly clarify the confusion.

Answer:
The correct position is that it is fabricated, as al-Allamah Ibn al-Jawzi explicitly stated in al-Maudu'at. Al-Tirmidhi and al-'Uqayli deemed it weak, and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in al-Talkhis: "The truth is that all its chains are weak." Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and al-Mizzi also deemed it weak. The truth is that it is fabricated, as we have mentioned, and as Ibn al-Jawzi explicitly stated in al-Maudu'at, due to the weakness of its chains, the anomaly of its text, and its contradiction of the authentic, mass-transmitted hadiths regarding the description of the legislated prayer. And success is from Allah.
