Ruling on performing wudu' from the broth of camel meat
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: H. A. Q. - Hail - Saudi Arabia says: Is it obligatory to perform wudu' from the broth of camel meat and the food cooked with camel meat?
A: It is not obligatory to perform wudu' from that, nor from camel milk. Rather, it is obligatory to perform wudu' from eating camel meat specifically, according to the most correct opinion of the scholars; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): It was narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and al-Tirmidhi with a sound chain, from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him). And Muslim narrated in his Sahih, from Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do we perform wudu' from the meat of sheep?" He said: He said: "Do we perform wudu' from the meat of camels?" He said: And the broth is not called meat, and so is the food and the milk. Matters like these are based on textual evidence, and there is no place for analogical reasoning in them. And Allah knows best.
