The Ruling on Ablution from Camel Meat, Its Broth, and Its Milk
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A Yemeni woman residing in the Kingdom says: Your sister in Islam, Latifa Muhammad Ahmad. Sister Latifa says: We heard on this program that camel meat invalidates the ablution. Do we have to repeat the full ablution? Does camel broth also invalidate the ablution? And if a person prays without ablution, is his prayer valid, or is it considered incorrect, meaning: after eating camel meat?
May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
Camel meat invalidates the ablution, and it is the meat of the camel; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded ablution from camel meat, and said: And their meat is the lean parts, as for the stomach and ……, these are not included in it, and the fat is likewise, but if one performs ablution from it as a precaution, that is good.
As for the milk and the broth, there is no ablution from them. The milk and the broth do not require ablution. Rather, ablution is required only from the meat if one eats it. One performs the ablution for prayer, which does not include cleaning oneself, like one who has passed wind. That is: he rinses his mouth, inhales water into his nose, washes his face and arms, wipes his head and ears, and washes his feet. It does not include cleaning oneself. Cleaning oneself is for urine and feces. As for passing wind, sleeping, camel meat, and touching the private parts, these require only the ablution, the wiping, meaning: washing the four limbs: washing the face and hands with the elbows, wiping the head with the ears, washing the feet with the ankles. In touching the private parts, in eating camel meat, in sleeping, and in passing wind, these require only the ablution, which does not include cleaning oneself. Yes.
