One who stands up after the dawn has appeared prays the sunnah, then the obligatory prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the ruling on the sunnah of Fajr if a Muslim stands up to pray after the dawn has appeared? Is it recommended that he perform it, or is it obligatory for him to perform the Fajr prayer immediately and then pray its sunnah?

A: It is the sunnah for the believer to precede the sunnah of Fajr by praying it in his house, then going out to the mosque. If he arrives and the prayer has not yet begun, he prays two rak'ahs as the greeting of the mosque; this is the sunnah. If he did not pray in his house but came to the mosque, he prays the regular sunnah in the mosque as two rak'ahs for the greeting of the mosque. If he intends both, there is nothing wrong with it, meaning the sunnah of Fajr and the greeting. However, if he missed this sunnah, for example by sleeping and not waking up until after the dawn had appeared, he begins with the sunnah of Fajr and then prays the obligatory prayer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did when he and his Companions slept through the Fajr prayer on one of their journeys.
