What the Imam Does If He Makes a Mistake and No One Points It Out to Him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: If the imam recites in the prayer whatever is easy of the Qur'an, then forgets to complete the verse, and none of the praying people knows how to point it out to him, should he say takbir and end the rak'ah, or should he recite a different surah?

A: He has a choice: if he wishes, he may say takbir and end the recitation, or if he wishes, he may recite a verse or verses from another surah, according to what the pure Sunnah requires in the prayer in which he is reciting, provided that this is not in al-Fatihah.
As for al-Fatihah, it is necessary to recite it in its entirety, because reciting it is a pillar of the prayer. And success is from Allah.
