Answer:
It is pure according to the correct view, just like the cat; in fact, it is even more so. The cat may consume more impurities, whereas the donkey and the mule are fed pure fodder. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the use of the cat’s residue, even though it may hunt mice and other things, then the mule and the donkey are all the more so.
