“Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge”: Does this include worldly knowledge?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If a Muslim travels a path in search of knowledge, such as medicine or engineering, does this fall under this hadith, meaning other than the religious sciences?
The most likely view—and Allah knows best—is that the intended meaning is the religious sciences. As for the other sciences, they are permissible. If he intends good by them, good is hoped for him. If he intends to benefit the Muslims, such as through medicine, engineering, or mathematics, and intends to benefit the Muslims by them, then good is hoped for him, if Allah wills. However, when the word “knowledge” is used in a general sense, it refers to what Allah said and what His Messenger said; that is the knowledge.
