The Ruling on Initiating the Greeting to the Rafidah and the People of Innovation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We have many Rafidah at the university. Do we initiate the greeting to them?

Answer:
If you know that they are Rafidah who display their religious innovation, do not initiate the greeting to them and do not respond to them; they are to be boycotted. But if they do not display it and conceal it, greet them.
Q: Do they not pray in the mosque?
The Shaykh: They do not pray with the congregation; this is one of the religious innovations.
Q: Meaning, do we not respond to their greeting?
The Shaykh: And do not initiate the greeting to them; until they pray with the Muslims, until they support the Sunnah and distance themselves from religious innovation.
Q: And the extremists among the Sufis?
The Shaykh: As for the Sufis, if they display their religious innovation, or if they do not, greet them. If they display a religious innovation that entails declaring someone a disbeliever, or one that necessitates boycotting, do not greet them. And if they do not display anything among the Muslims in their prayer or their deeds, greet them. You are only concerned with what is apparent.
