What is your opinion regarding those who denied the mixing of narrations (ikhtilat) of Ibn Lahi'ah, such as Ibn Ma'in?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Now, regarding 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah al-Misri, what is the statement of Yahya ibn Ma'in (may Allah have mercy on him) when he denied it?

The Shaykh : "The one who affirms takes precedence over the one who denies." One who knows is an argument over one who does not know. The one who denies has no weight in his speech compared to the one who affirms, because he spoke within the limits of the knowledge that reached him. But the one who affirms something he does not know, we do not reject his knowledge just because others did not know it. This... others did not memorize it. When you bring up the example, you mean it specifically. In other words, if I tell you: Yes, the addition of a trustworthy narrator is acceptable, then the hadith is valid via the route of Ibn 'Umar: "From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to raise his hands in the takbirs of the funeral prayer." If you mean that this trustworthy narrator who added the raising was not contradicted?

The questioner : This is what I want to ask about?

The Shaykh : No, he is a contradictor. And therefore we said: that such a branch has the ruling of a marfu' (report traced to the Prophet) from Ibn 'Umar regarding stopping at him. So whoever is convinced that such a branch has the ruling of a marfu' acts upon it, otherwise not.
