The Ruling on Constant Fear of Associating Partners with Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: A person is constantly preoccupied with the Hereafter, death, and the Reckoning on the Day of Resurrection. He fears that he may be among the people of the Fire, that his deeds will not be accepted from him, and that there may be shirk (associating partners with Allah) in him. He fears that shirk may enter him without his knowing it. He constantly repeats: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You while I know it, and I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You while I do not know it.” What is required of him? Does he commit a sin? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
He must strive to combat doubts. He is, if Allah wills, upon good; because this fear of Allah and caution against shirk has overcome him. He must examine himself, ask his Lord for help and success, and beware of the schemes of Satan, for Satan harms people through whispers. He must beware of the schemes of Satan, have good opinion of his Lord, and strive to perform righteous deeds without occupying himself with these whispers. When he feels this, he should seek refuge in Allah from Satan and strive to ensure his deeds are for Allah alone, free from showing off and seeking reputation. Satan is a clear enemy, and one must guard against him by seeking refuge in Allah from Satan whenever he is occupied with these whispers.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
