The Ruling on Whispers Regarding the Number of Rak'ahs and the Number of Prostrations

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister says: I often experience some doubts in prayer regarding the number of rak'ahs and the number of prostrations. Should I pay attention to them, or should I consider them as whispers (waswas)?

Answer:
If it happens frequently, it is considered waswas, so do not pay attention to it. If it is frequent, it is considered waswas and should not be attended to. However, if it is rare, act according to the Shari'ah. If it is rare and you doubt whether you prayed three or four rak'ahs, make it three, perform the fourth, and then perform the prostration for forgetfulness.
If you doubt whether you prostrated in the second rak'ah or not, prostrate in the second rak'ah, take the precaution, and then perform the prostration for forgetfulness afterwards, after finishing the prayer but before the taslim, two prostrations for forgetfulness. However, if it happens frequently, this is considered waswas and should be discarded and not attended to.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
