Question:
After this, Your Eminence the Shaykh, a message was received by the program from one of the brother listeners, containing a collection of questions. He is from Benghazi in Libya. He says: I ask you, if you would be so kind, about the authenticity of the hadith regarding the Prayer of Tasbih, as I found this hadith in more than one book. He says that after the recitation in each rak'ah, one says: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illa Allah. He continues to recite the hadith—Your Eminence the Shaykh—to ask Your Eminence about the ruling on the Prayer of Tasbih? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We have traced the chains of narration of the aforementioned hadith and the statements of the scholars regarding it; it has become clear from this that it is not authentic, that it contradicts the authentic hadiths, and that all of its chains of narration are weak, so it is not to be relied upon. What is prescribed for the believer is to pray as established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadiths, without need for the tasbihat that came in it. He prays as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did, with the recitation in the state of standing, and the tasbih in the state of bowing: Subhan Rabbi al-Azim, Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li, and so on, Rabbana wa lak al-hamd in the state of standing until the end, and so on, the tasbih in prostration: Subhan Rabbi al-A'la, Subhan Rabbi al-A'la, Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li, Subbuhan Quddus Rabb al-Mala'ikah wa al-Ruh. This is what is transmitted. As for the additions in the hadith of tasbih, these are all not authentic, and are not to be relied upon. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
