Ruling on one who forgets to mention the name of Allah during ablution

Question:
From one of the listening sisters, a message that ends by saying: The sender is your sister in Allah, our sister in Allah included more than five questions in her message, and in one of them she asks about the ruling on one who forgets to mention the name of Allah during ablution. May Allah reward you with good?

Answer:
If one forgets it during ablution, he owes nothing. Even if he intentionally omits it, his ablution is valid according to the majority of scholars. Some scholars said: If he intentionally omits it while knowing the legal ruling, he must repeat the ablution. The correct view is that he does not repeat it. The correct view is that he does not repeat it if he is ignorant, or if he doubts its obligation upon him, or if he believes it is only recommended. He does not have to repeat the ablution, but it is prescribed for him to mention the name of Allah during ablution. If he forgets that, or is ignorant of it, or doubts its obligation, his ablution is valid, and praise be to Allah.
