The Sunnah of saying the name of Allah during ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A letter from one of the female listeners says: Umm Sarah from al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. Umm Sarah has a number of questions, one of which says: When performing ablution, I always forget the basmalah at the beginning, even though I know the hadith on this is authentic. What is the ruling on the ablution? And consequently, what is the ruling on the prayers I have performed in the past? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The ablution is valid, and the prayer is valid, and praise be to Allah; for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.رَبَّنَا لا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[al-Baqarah:286] So there is no blame on you, even if you left it out intentionally; because most of the scholars are of the view that it is a recommended practice (sunnah), and some of the people of knowledge held that it is obligatory with the remembrance, whereas with forgetfulness it is dropped, and praise be to Allah, or with ignorance, so the prayer is valid and praise be to Allah, and the ablution is valid as well, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
