The number of rak'ahs in the night prayer and its manner

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the listening brothers sent a question to Your Eminence, saying: What is the number of rak'ahs in the night prayer? Is reciting al-Fatihah sufficient in every rak'ah, or is it necessary to recite something from the Qur'an? Also, is it prayed in congregation, or does one pray alone? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no fixed limit for the night prayer, praise be to Allah. Its minimum is one rak'ah; if one performs witr with one rak'ah after the sunnah of 'Isha', that is sufficient, praise be to Allah. The best is to pray as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: eleven or thirteen rak'ahs, saying taslim after every two if that is easy for him. If it is not easy, he performs witr with three, five, or more than that, saying taslim after every two. This is the best. Whether he prays alone or prays in congregation with his family, it is all good, and there is no blame in that, praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
