The ruling on speaking about some of the acts of obedience a servant performs

Question:
He asks another question and says: I invited some people to Islam, and I sought the reward of Allah for that, and by the praise of Allah, they embraced Islam. After a period of time, I spoke about this deed to the people of my village, and at that point I felt regret and feared showing off in worship (riya'). Am I on the right path, or not? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no showing off in worship (riya') in informing them that so-and-so and so-and-so embraced Islam through you, if your intention is merely to inform. There is no showing off in worship (riya') in that. However, if your intention is to praise yourself, you should refrain from that. But if the intention is to inform your family of the good that Allah facilitated through you so that they may be glad and pleased, then there is nothing wrong with that, and praise be to Allah.
