What is the ruling on speaking with a jinn?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the authenticity of the hadith, and it is the hadith of Abu ibn Ka'b? A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he sat him in front of him, placed his hand on his head, and recited these verses: al-Fatihah, or al-Baqarah, the Verse of the Throne, the end of al-Baqarah,
Allah has testified that there is no god but He شهد الله أنه لا إله إلا هو
, and verses forty-four and fifty of Surat al-A'raf, the end of al-Mu'minun, the first ten verses of al-Saffat, two verses, and Surat al-Rahman, a verse from Surat al-Jinn, the end of al-Hashr, al-Ikhlas, and the two Mu'awwidhat. He said: The man stood up as if he had never complained before, meaning for a long time. I have been performing ruqyah with this ruqyah, and one day I performed ruqyah on a young man, and the jinn spoke through his mouth and said: I have no involvement, I have no involvement. The important thing is to summarize the matter, because the situation is that he stayed for several days, about four days. So, I spoke in the usual way I used to work before: I argued with him, and asked, "What is your name? Who are you? Why did you enter? Do you work as a sorcerer or not?" and so on. He said: I work with the sorcerer, and the sorcerer is so-and-so, and so-and-so who went to the sorcerer, and so on. In the end, he said: I became a Muslim yesterday when I first came to you. I want to serve. I said to him: What service do you want to provide? He said: I serve the Muslims, just call me and I will come to you according to what he named himself. Instead of saying "Ya Allah," say "Ya 'Abd Allah." He said: I do not intend that. Go away from me. Whoever brought you will bring someone else, and someone else besides them, and so on. The important thing is, if he said: Do not call me, if that involves shirk, meaning, take the siwak and chew with it five times, I will be present with you. I said to him: Ah, the Messenger (peace be upon him) and the prayer, and it is clear that the siwak is a recommended practice (sunnah) with no limit to the number, and so on. I will come, meaning, do I associate partners with Allah through this act? I do not accept that. If you want to serve, go away from me and serve in the way you see fit! The summary of the hadith: He said, I want to sit with you to learn the rules of tajwid!

The Shaykh : What Allah willed.

The questioner : I said to him: I do not accept all of this, but turn around and leave. I do not command you except to leave. I commanded him to fear Allah, and then to leave this man... because he was wronged, and so on. He said: I am not able to leave until the sorcery is extracted. And this time was late at night, and it was a freezing night. We waited until morning. By experience with the long duration, I know that the sorcery, of course, if he were truthful in his Islam, he would have left, but he was not truthful in his Islam, and this is what I knew. The point of the matter is that we waited until morning until we went to the place of the sorcery that he indicated. The young men dug the place and did not find anything. The end of the hadith. I said: You must leave. He said: I am not able to leave. I said to him: Leave, or I will kill you or burn you. And I swore by Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that he would leave from him, or I would burn him. He said: I am not able to leave. And he tried the process of leaving dozens of times, approximately. I recited Surat Yasin over him until he gathered himself. In the end, I did not find a way. And this is a method, I do not know its validity, one of the shaykhs taught us it previously. I said to him: If you gather yourself in his leg. I said to him: Where do you reside? He said: I reside in the right. I said to him: Gather yourself in the left. He gathered his negation, of course, for him...

The Shaykh : For him, what?

The questioner : Meaning, the place under him is swollen for him, he has a visible size, meaning! I hit him with a knife, he screamed. I said to him: Gather yourself and say, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah," and this is what happened to me. He said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. Gather yourself a second time. I hit him with the knife again, and the important thing is, it ended.

The Shaykh : What do you mean by "I hit him with a knife"? Did you wound him?

The questioner : Yes, I wounded him. The same young man hit him in the same place where he was gathered. Of course, this was based on his desire. He moved to the conversation with the speed that was based on his desire. There is no solution before you except that you, meaning, kill me in the way you see fit. This is what I did. The important thing is, this is not the only matter, but after a day, he said, meaning, he said before that for a period, he has a brother with the sister of the same young man whom I recited over, and I went and recited over the young man also. He spoke through his mouth, the first one, who is with our companion, his name is Marwan, and the second one is named Murad. The point of the summary of the hadith is that when this one was killed, after a day or two of this incident, the same young man came to me and said: I heard a voice approximately saying "As, As," I do not know. The important thing is, I recited over him until the beginning of al-Fatihah. He spoke through his mouth: Who are you? He said: Murad. What brought you? He said: By Allah, my brother instructed me to come to the same young man and declare my Islam in front of you, and so on... I said to him: Okay, say: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." He said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." He said: My brother instructed me to name myself Sulayman. Of course, this is another lure, because my eldest son's name is 'Abd Allah, and that one named himself 'Abd Allah, and the second son's name is Sulayman, and this... meaning, the point of the matter is that he said to him: Sit. I said: Do not sit. I said to him: Leave for the Holy Makkah, and so on. And he stayed for a period. He said: I serve. I said to him: We are in no need of this service. The point of the matter is that after two days, he left. Of course, he himself said Sulayman. He said to me: My wife and my son, his name is Badis. My wife's name is Maysaa. I want to invite them to Islam, and they will come and become Muslims. I said to him: This is what happened to me. I said to him: No harm, Ya Badis, Ya Badis, I will come to so-and-so, not to the same young man, to another person. And this was of course with a clear voice in front of us, meaning, the same night that Sulayman left with him.

The Shaykh : Was there anyone with you, or were you alone?

The questioner : Of course, I had a crowd, not one or two, ten or fifteen. The important thing is, for a period, on the same night, of course, he did not come to the young man who said to him, "Ya Badis, come to him." He came to the same young man whom I was treating. In moments, I did not see anything except his leg shaking. This is known. The important thing is, who are you? He said: Badis. Why did you come? He said: To take revenge on you and on this young man. I said to him: Did your father instruct you to come... He said: I will not answer you, nor will I answer my father. You ruined the family. You did it, you made it. I hit him first. I said to him: You are not able to take revenge, and so on. I warned him. There is no solution. I hit him. He began to scream. The important thing is... leave or not... He said: I am crazy. You will not benefit from me, nor will I go and become a Muslim, or anything else. You ruined the family! I said to him: Did I ruin the family, or the sorcerer who is... He said: It is true, but I said to him: If you leave. The point of the matter is, there is no solution except that he leave. He did not leave. He left with force and intensity. In moments, listen, on the same person, the voice of a woman: My son, my son, my son. The voice of an ordinary woman. Who are you? Maysaa. Okay, what brought you? I am coming to look for my son. Get out. She did not get out. Follow your husband. Become a Muslim, and so on. She said: I will not get out until I sleep with this man tonight. You will sleep with this man? This is zina, it is forbidden. She said: This is with you, with us, it is not forbidden. May Allah guide you and satisfy you. There is no benefit... To summarize the matter, yes, in the moment that I, of course, meaning, some ideas came to me, which are how I should deal now with this flood or wave that opened in a moment. She said that there is a man who entered the body. I said: Who is the man? She said: A man I do not know. The man became: Who are you? 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad. From 'Abd Allah, from Ahmad, who was killed. Killed the first time... Yes, okay, how did you come? Tell me... Tell me: My soul is with you, and my body is in Makkah!

The Shaykh : What Allah willed.

The questioner : Yes, I said to him, how is this? He said, like this. I told him, ask him how he came and how he arrived, and so on. Of course, this is the important issue: why did he come? He said, I saw you were upset with this wicked woman, and so on, so I wanted to help you. I said to him, how are you? He said, don't ask me about anything; I don't know... I said to him, well, how do we kill her, or how do we get her out? He said, tell her to go out, but she is not going to go out. I said, how? He said, she is wicked; the point is, get out, but she didn't. He said, there is no solution except to kill her. He said, how am I supposed to kill her when I killed you and came? How am I supposed to kill her? This is also the point. He said, I am going to restrain her by her foot, specifically her toe, and you pounce on her. I said to him, which foot? He said, the right foot. In fact, his toe began to move in an unusual way... and there were two voices at the same time, which makes it impossible for it to be feigned. It occurred to me that he might be feigning, but at the same time, there was a voice. So, the point is, when he said, strangle her, I pressed his right foot, meaning his toe actually turned blue. After that, he said, it is over, praise be to Allah. Then I said, if you are fine, how did you come? He said, don't ask me about anything; I must leave now. So he left, and the man was as if nothing had happened. Of course, regarding souls, it is known to me that a soul does not return; I did not read anything or have knowledge of that. This is the problem. I do not know what Your Eminence thinks about this matter or your opinion on the issue, Shaykh?

The Shaykh : I see that you should abandon this entire practice and not be a place for Satan to play with you. All of these are from the devils of the jinn, and there may be a devil from among the devils of mankind, but the story you are telling is, by the standards of human means, a fictional story...

The questioner : If it had not happened to me, I would not believe it.

The Shaykh : Be patient, but when a Muslim believes that there is a life other than human life, namely the life of the angels and the life of the jinn, and that they possess capabilities, energies, and powers that humans usually cannot bear or achieve, and among these is, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them إنه يراكم هو وقبيله من حيث لاترونهم
[Al-A'raf 7:27]
From this perspective, this image or this fictional story for us might be a real reality, but from devils of this type who see us and we do not see them. So now you are speaking as if you are a witness to the matter, while you hear a voice and do not see a person, yes? And you say that he became a Muslim, and you say that he died, and you say that he returned from Makkah, and you ask him how he returned, and he says, this is not your business, or don't ask me such a question...

The questioner : He says, I do not know.

The Shaykh : Do you understand? Well, your current position regarding this play, which may be a real reality for the jinn but is fiction upon fiction for us, is that you are taking it and looking at it with a view of validity, as if the reality is such and such, and so-and-so said this, and his name is such and such, and he became a Muslim, and he died. How do you know that he died? That is, in the time when you think there is deception, there is sorcery, you are now being played with in your mind and deluded by matters you adopt, saying, he became a Muslim. How do you know that he became a Muslim?

The questioner : He claimed so.

The Shaykh : He said, who is the one who said? Do you know him? Are you truthful or lying?

The questioner : I do not know. There is lying among them, but he is the one who said it!

The Shaykh : Then, may Allah reward you, stay away from evil and recite for him! Do not waste your time in these matters at all. And do not forget that the hadith or the ruqyah that you asked about at the beginning of this story, this hadith has no basis in the known books of the Sunnah today. And if you must be a healer for those possessed by jinn, read what is easy of the Qur'an and do not go deep. And as you mentioned, you used to ask him, are you a Muslim, and so on. All of this is not permissible for you to enter into at all. So either turn to your work, your job, your studies, your leading of prayer, or your calling to prayer, or limit yourself only to reading Qur'an for those who are truly possessed. As for entering into such details, I fear for you that you will go astray far away, because now the people of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, one of the causes of their misguidance was that Satan would enter the idol and speak, commanding them and forbidding them, saying, this is what the Lord said, and this is what the Deity said, and so on, and they actually heard the voice from it, yes? So now we have become people who hear voices and believe in them, that this is a Jew who became a Muslim, or a Christian who became a Muslim, or a Muslim who became an apostate, or something similar, or this is a lover or she is a beloved, and we take it and accept it as a matter of course. This is not permissible in matters of the unseen... nor should our minds take it and treat it as established matters, as if they are unseen matters where a book came to us, or a sound hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and submission is obligatory. No. Therefore, leave this matter entirely, or limit yourself only to reading verses from the Qur'an. If it benefits, then good; otherwise, you are not a guardian over them. And peace be upon you.

The questioner : Does he owe the expiation for killing?

The Shaykh : ... .
