The obligation of one who is called to perform the obligatory acts and abandon the prohibited ones

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I invited one of my friends to pray, and he said to me: When Allah guides me, I will pray. So we entered into a discussion, and he said:
Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He willsإِنَّكَ لا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ
[Surah al-Qasas: 56] and we continued to argue about this topic. What is your guidance to us in such a situation? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is obligatory for one who is called to perform an obligatory act to say: “Hear and obey,” and to fear Allah, and to hasten to respond, and not to say: “If Allah guides me.” Allah has commanded you with this and guided you to this. He said:
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayerحَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى
[Surah al-Baqarah: 238] He said:
And establish prayerوَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ
[Surah al-Baqarah: 43] So it is obligatory for you, when your brother calls you to prayer, to say: “Hear and obey,” and to hasten to pray in the mosque with your Muslim brothers.
Likewise, if he calls you to pay zakah, or fast Ramadan, or abandon religious innovations, or abandon drinking intoxicants, or the like of that, do not say: “If Allah guides me.” No, say: “Hear and obey.” May Allah reward you with good, and you must comply; because Allah has commanded you with this, and his command is to rebuke you and teach you. Allah the Exalted said:
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrongوَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ
[Surah al-Tawbah: 71] And Allah has condemned the one who is arrogant, and He said—(Exalted and Majestic is He)—condemning the one who is arrogant about the truth:
And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah," pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Hellfire, and how wretched is the resting place.
[Surah al-Baqarah: 206] We ask Allah for safety.
So it is obligatory for you, when your brother says to you: “Pray,” or “Abandon the company of the wicked,” or “Abandon riba,” or “Abandon lewd acts,” or “Pay zakah,” or the like of that, to say: “May Allah reward you with good, if Allah wills. I ask Allah to help me, I ask Allah to guide me. May Allah reward you with good, may Allah reward you. Thank him, pray for him, and hasten to the truth. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
