Zakah on sheep prepared for sale and trade

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A listener sent a message asking and saying: I, praise be to Allah, buy and sell sheep. Please note that the merchandise I buy, I sell it, and the lunar year does not pass over it. I do not know whether the money I receive is subject to zakah or not?
Answer: Yes, zakah is obligatory on you when the lunar year has passed. You pay zakah on what is in your possession, that is, what has completed a lunar year in your possession. You pay zakah on it, whether it is little or much, as long as it reaches the nisab (minimum threshold). When the lunar year has passed, you pay zakah on what is in your possession from the price of the sheep, or from the sheep that you have not yet sold and which are held for sale. You pay zakah on them, or on their value. So, when the lunar year has passed and you have some sheep and some money, you pay zakah on the whole, according to the value of the sheep. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
