Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: From the Post Institute in Riyadh, the listener Uthman ibn Abd al-Karim al-Juwair sent a question and said: What is the authenticity of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever prays behind the imam for forty days and does not miss the takbir of ihram, two certificates are written for him: a certificate of safety from hypocrisy, and a certificate of safety from the Fire.من صلى خلف الإمام أربعين يومًا لم تفته تكبيرة الإحرام كتبت له براءتان براءة من النفاق، وبراءة من النار
, may Allah reward you with good?
The answer: The hadith is weak and not authentic, but the believer is commanded to maintain prayer in congregation. Maintaining prayer in congregation is among the causes of entering Paradise and being saved from the Fire, and of the expiation of sins. However, this hadith which mentions the forty days and that it is written for him a certificate of safety from the Fire and a certificate of safety from hypocrisy, the hadith is weak. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
