Question:
What is the appropriate style for advice and calling to Allah the Exalted?
Answer:
The appropriate style in calling to Allah and giving advice is the style to which Allah guided and which He commanded His servants to follow in His Noble Book, in His saying: [Al-Isra: 53], and His saying: : [Al-Baqarah: 83], and His saying: [An-Nahl: 125], and His saying: [Al-'Ankabut: 46].
And His saying: , addressing His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in Al Imran: [Al Imran: 159], and His saying when He sent Musa and Harun to Pharaoh: [Ta-Ha: 44], and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 27:14, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): , narrated by Muslim in his Sahih, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam).
There are many verses and hadiths in this sense; therefore, it is obligatory for scholars, rulers, and those who call people to Allah to follow this methodology to which Allah has guided and to which His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has guided. They should advise people and address their problems through the path to which Allah, the Exalted, has guided and to which His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has guided. And if someone commits injustice and aggression, and guidance and advice do not benefit him, it is obligatory for the authorities to punish him with the punishments prescribed by the Shari'ah.
And whoever is established with what necessitates the implementation of the hadd or ta'zir, it is obligatory to execute the ruling of Allah in his case through the authorities and those they delegate for that, as a deterrent for him and his like, and to protect the Muslim society from all types of corruption.
May Allah correct the steps and rectify the hearts and deeds, and guide the authorities to everything that is in His pleasure and the well-being of His servants, and rectify the conditions of all Muslims and grant them understanding in the religion and establish them upon the truth, for He is Generous and Bountiful, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.
