Mention of Some of the Signs of the Hour, Both Minor and Major

From the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Private Gypsum Company sent us a message from Muhammad Ahmad al-'A'ali, saying: What are the minor signs of the Hour? May Allah guide you.
Answer: The signs of the Hour are numerous. The minor signs are many. Among them is what was mentioned in the hadith of Jibril, where he (peace and blessings be upon him) informed Jibril that among its signs are: , meaning among its minor signs is the increase of female slaves and the fact that female slaves give birth to their masters, as has occurred among the Arabs and others. Among its signs is the heightening of buildings, the elaboration in construction, and the lengthening of palaces, and this has occurred for a long time. Among its signs is the lack of concern for religion, people turning to worldly life, and the lack of attention to the affairs of religion. All of this is among its signs, and among the indicators of its nearness is the scarcity of knowledge and the prevalence of ignorance, and this has occurred for a long time. Also among its signs is the emergence of a fire in the Hijaz that illuminates the necks of camels in Busra in Sham, and this fire has occurred. It emerged in the city of Madinah in the year 654 and continued for a long period, for days, in the Harrah of Madinah. All of this is a known matter mentioned by historians, and it came in the Sunnah from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
So its minor signs are many, and a great deal of them has already occurred. As for its major signs, they will come. Among them is the emergence of the expected Mahdi from the family of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a Mahdi other than the Mahdi of the Shi'ah, another Mahdi other than the Mahdi of the Shi'ah. As for the Mahdi of the Shi'ah, there is no basis for him, but there is another Mahdi other than the Mahdi of the Shi'ah named Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah who will emerge at the end of time when the emergence of the Dajjal and the descent of 'Isa ibn Maryam are near. His name is Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah, and authentic hadiths have come regarding him from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Among them is: the descent of the Messiah, son of Maryam, when the Dajjal emerges. The emergence of the Dajjal is among the signs of the Hour, and he will emerge from the east, claiming prophethood, then claiming to be the Lord of the worlds—may Allah protect us from that—and Allah has commanded us to seek refuge from his evil at the end of the prayer. Among them is: the descent of 'Isa ibn Maryam at the end of time from the sky, where he will kill the Dajjal and rule by the Shari'ah of Allah, and people will enter the religion of Allah in large groups during his time (peace and blessings be upon him), and Allah will destroy all religions, so that nothing remains but Islam during his time (peace and blessings be upon him). Among them is: at the end of time, the removal of the Qur'an from the written copies and from the chests of people when the practice of it is abandoned. Among them is: the demolition of the Ka'bah at the end of time, and the Abyssinians will demolish it. Among them is: the rising of the sun from the west at the end of time, and if it rises from the west, repentance will not be accepted from anyone; everyone will remain in their state. If the sun rises from the west, repentance will not be accepted after that. All of these are among its major signs. And the last of the signs is the gathering of the Fire at the end of time, gathering people to the place of assembly, driving them to the place of assembly from the direction of Sham. It will spend the night with them wherever they spend the night, and rest with them wherever they rest. And after this, the Hour will stand over the worst of creation, after Allah takes the souls of the believing men and women. Allah will send a gentle wind that takes the souls of the believing men and women, so the wicked will remain, and over them the Hour will stand at the end of time.
The point is that the major signs of the Hour have not occurred and will occur, and it is likely that their time is not far off. The time of the emergence of the Mahdi, the emergence of the Dajjal, and the descent of the Messiah is not far off, and Allah knows best; because evil has increased in the world, and disbelief in Allah, sins, and transgressions have spread. And we ask Allah for guidance, success, and the improvement of conditions for the Muslims.
