The Prohibition of Bribery in All Matters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A questioner named Muslih al-Sabith asks: Is bribery generally prohibited in all matters concerning wealth, whether it be currency, land, or otherwise? Please inform us, may Allah guide you?
Answer: Bribery is not permissible, whether it involves currency, land, or anything else. Bribery is forbidden. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it. Therefore, it is not permissible to give a bribe so that the ruler, judge, witness, or the like will act unjustly toward him. Bribery is haram (forbidden), and its consequences are severe; it leads to injustice toward people and encroachment upon their rights. It is never permissible, whether one offers money in currency, money in land, animals, or food. There is no difference in the types of bribery. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
