The ruling on keeping a bird in a cage for decoration, such as a parrot or others

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was received by the program from one of the listening brothers who preferred not to have his name mentioned. He asks four questions. In his first question, he says: Is it permissible to keep birds, such as parrots and others, in cages and place them in houses for the purpose of decoration, or to keep nightingales in cages as well to enjoy their voices? There is also another type, which is in the form of a tank containing water where colored fish are placed. Is this permissible?
Answer: There is no harm in that if one treats them well and does not wrong them. If one treats them well in their food and drink, there is no harm in keeping a parrot or anything other than a parrot, such as pigeons, chickens, and the like, on the condition of treating them well and not wronging them. And if they are in a yard or in water, like fish, or in boxes that do not harm them, and they are given grain and drink, meaning that no injustice is done to them, then there is nothing wrong with this. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
