The Ruling on the Adhan and Iqamah for Women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Sulayman Rashid asks: Is the adhan or iqamah obligatory for a Muslim woman when she prays? What is the ruling on her prayer if she does so?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: There is no adhan or iqamah for women; that is for men. The Sunnah is for a woman to pray without an adhan or iqamah. If she prays with an adhan and iqamah, she has done wrong and done something that is not prescribed, but her prayer is valid.
