Zakah on pledged wealth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
On whom is the zakah of pledged property obligatory?
Answer: There is a distinction regarding the pledged item: If the pledged item is currency that you pledged with him, you must pay its zakah, because it is like a trust, and a pledge is a trust. If the wealth with him consists of goods, such as pledged land that you prepared for trade, or pledged real estate, or a pledged car, then if you prepared it for trade and it is pledged, you must pay its zakah. However, if it is pledged and you did not prepare it for trade, but it is pledged until you settle his right, and once you have settled it, it is for residence or for rental, then there is no zakah on it, as mentioned earlier in the details.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
