Where is the place of the gaze in prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We begin with a message from the listener Abd al-Qadir al-Sa'idi from Iraq, Ta'mim Governorate. He says in his message, and he is from Ta'mim Governorate: While the worshipper is standing on the prayer mat and continues in prayer, in this state, how should his gaze be directed? Is it permissible to look at the sky, or forward, or at the place of prostration? Thank you very much.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for the answer: The Sunnah is to look at the place of prostration. This is the Sunnah. As long as he is standing in prayer, the Sunnah is to look at the place of his prostration. He should not look to the right, to the left, forward, or upward. The authentic Sunnah has come with the prohibition of raising the gaze to the sky, and that this is a danger that his sight may be snatched away. So he should not raise his gaze to the sky, neither in his supplication nor in his prayer while in the state of prayer, but he should look at the place of his prostration. Yes. And in the authentic hadith:
The people who lift their eyes towards the sky in Prayer should avoid it or they would lose their eyesight.لينتهين أقوام عن رفع أبصارهم إلى السماء في الصلاة أو لا ترجع إليهم
Sahih Muslim 428
And in another wording he said:
Or their eyes will be snatched away.أو لتخطفن أبصارهم
. Yes.
