How to make up the witr prayer during the day for one who missed it at night

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks about making up the witr prayer during the day, and how that is done?

Answer:
If a person sleeps through the witr prayer, or forgets it, or is afflicted with an illness that prevents him from praying it, he should pray whatever is easy for him during the day. It is better for him to pray the same number of rak'ahs, but he should not make it odd; rather, he should make it even. So if his custom was five, he prays six rak'ahs, saying the taslim after every two. And if his custom at night was seven, he prays eight during the day, saying the taslim after every two, and so on.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), if sleep or illness prevented him from his witr, would pray twelve rak'ahs during the day.كان النبي ﷺ إذا شغله نوم، أو مرض عن وتره؛ صلى من النهار ثنتي عشرة ركعة
And his (peace and blessings be upon him) custom was to pray eleven at night. If he was prevented from it by sleep or illness, he would add one rak'ah and pray twelve, saying the taslim after every two. (peace and blessings be upon him) Yes.
