Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: With every prayer, I feel that I am distracted in my prayer, and I doubt that I performed it as it should be. What do you advise me to do? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
We advise you to seek refuge in Allah from Satan, to be wary of obsessive doubts, to turn your attention to the prayer, and to be present in it with your heart. Strive in it and do not pay attention to Satan.
The obsessive doubts that tell you: "You did not complete it, you did not finish it"; this is from Satan. Leave them, and be certain that you completed it, and praise be to Allah. You should seek refuge in Allah from Satan, even in prayer. If the obsessive doubts become frequent for you, spit to your left three times, saying: "I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan" three times; Allah will protect you from it.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised some of the Companions when he said to him: "Satan has confused my prayer"; he advised him to seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times, to spit to his left in prayer, and to seek refuge in Allah from him three times. The Companion (may Allah be pleased with him), who was Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi, said: "I did this, and Allah removed from me what I was feeling."
The point is: that a person seeks refuge in Allah from Satan when obsessive doubts occur, even by spitting to his left three times, saying: "I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan" three times; because this is a legislated act, by which one guards against the evil of Satan. Yes.
The presenter: Does he do that even if it is during the prayer?
The Shaykh: Even in prayer, even in prayer.
The presenter : May Allah bless you, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.
