Treatment of Satanic Whispers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We then move on to a question from the questioner, Saleh al-Zahrani, who says: He is a young man who suffers from many whispers. What are the means to get rid of them? I hope you will make a supplication for me, O Shaykh, may Allah reward you.

Answer:
May Allah heal you and grant you well-being, may Allah heal you and grant you well-being. The way to get rid of them is to seek refuge in Allah from Satan. When he feels the whispers, he should spit to his left three times, even if he is in prayer, and say: “I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.” This is the cure, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught his Companions. And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says in His Noble Book:
And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allahوَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ
[Al-A'raf: 200]. So the cure for the stings of the devils is seeking refuge in Allah from Satan, even if one is in prayer.
So if the whispers overcome him, it is prescribed for the believer to seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and to repeat and persist and be sincere, along with spitting to his left three times. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught his Companion Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi when he said: “O Messenger of Allah! Satan has confused my prayer for me.” So he ordered him to seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times and to spit to his left. Uthman said: “So I did that, and Allah removed from me what I was feeling.” Praise be to Allah.
