Question:
After this, a message was sent by the brother listener Ibrahim al-Ahmar, saying: Inform me about this phrase in the adhan, which is: (the prayer is better than sleep). Is it in the first adhan, or in the second adhan? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This phrase is in the second adhan at the appearance of dawn, as Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) explained, and this came in several hadiths. The first adhan and the iqamah are the second adhan.
As for the first one, which some people call out at the end of the night; this is to alert the one who is standing and to wake the one who is sleeping, as in the authentic hadith regarding Bilal, where he was ordered (peace and blessings be upon him) to call the adhan at night:
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so eat and drink (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan."إن بلالًا يؤذن بليل؛ فكلوا واشربوا حتى يؤذن ابن أم مكتوم
Sahih al-Bukhari 622, 623
Bilal calls the Adhan during the night to wake those who are sleepingفإن بلالًا يؤذن بليل؛ ليوقظ نائمكم، ويعلم قائمكم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 641Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning: near the dawn; so that he prepares for the Fajr prayer, yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
