The ruling on traveling to a mosque other than the three mosques

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Iraq - Baghdad - the listener Muhammad Husayn Ali Muhammad sent a question saying: Is it permissible for a person to travel from one town to another to pray the Friday prayer in a mosque called the Mosque of Shaykh So-and-So?

Answer:
If the travel is for the sake of it being called the Mosque of So-and-So, no, one does not travel for the sake of a specific mosque, nor for the sake of it being attributed to Shaykh So-and-So. The criterion is the imam present; if his imam is good and the prayer behind him is good because of his humility and his beautiful recitation, this is if a person intends to pray behind him for the sake of his beautiful recitation and for the sake of his establishment of the prayer and his humility in it; this is good.
As for traveling for the sake of the virtue of a mosque that is attributed to so-and-so, this is not permissible; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
One should not undertake journeys except to three mosques: al-Masque al-Haram (in Makkah ), the Aqsa mosque, or this mosque (in Madinah). لا تشد الرحال إلا إلى ثلاثة مساجد: المسجد الحرام، ومسجدي هذا، والمسجد الأقصى
Bulugh al-Maram 5:58
This is what he (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
Do not set out on a journey except for three Mosques i.e. Al-Masjid-AI-Haramلا تشد الرحال إلا إلى ثلاثة مساجد: المسجد الحرام
Sahih al-Bukhari 1189
meaning: Makkah, the mosque of Makkah,
and my mosqueومسجدي هذا
the mosque of al-Madinah,
and al-Masjid al-Aqsa (the Farthest Mosque).والمسجد الأقصى
and the mosque of al-Quds.
As for the other mosques, one does not travel to them, even if their owner is known for good and they are attributed to a shaykh known for good. However, if one travels for the sake of learning, or for praying behind him, not for the sake of the mosque, but for praying behind him and establishing prayer with him there so as to learn from him and benefit from him; there is no harm, this is for the sake of seeking knowledge, yes.
