The Ruling on Zakah in Gold Acquired Through a Gift

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says in this question, Your Eminence: I have gold as a gift, is there zakah in it?

Answer:
Yes, if a lunar year passes over the gift and it reaches the nisab, zakah becomes obligatory in it. If a person gives another person a gift of gold or silver that reaches the nisab, and a lunar year passes over it, zakah becomes obligatory upon him, because it has become his wealth through the gift; once he accepts it, it becomes his property.
So if a lunar year passes after he accepts the gift and takes possession of it, he must pay zakah on the gift, whether it is gold, silver, or other wealth intended for trade and sale; if a lunar year passes over it, zakah becomes obligatory. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence.
