How does a Muslim see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
السؤال:
You say: I would like to know from your eminence how a Muslim sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his sleep? For I long for that with intense longing, so please clarify that for us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
And whoever sees me in a dream then surely he has seen me for Satan cannot impersonate me.من رآني في المنام فقد رآني؛ فإن الشيطان لا يتمثل في صورتي
Sahih al-Bukhari 110
-upon him be peace and blessings- and his image is the fourth among men, the most beautiful in color, white in color, tinged with redness, wide between the shoulders, not short, nor tall -upon him be peace and blessings- he has a full beard -upon him be peace and blessings- thus he is described -upon him be peace and blessings- so whoever sees in a dream with this image; he has seen him, for Satan does not assume his image, upon him be peace and blessings.
But Satan may assume other images, claiming to be the Messenger of Allah, or that he is Musa, or that he is Dawud, or that he is so-and-so and so-and-so, and he is lying, deceiving the people, the enemy of Allah, assuming various forms, but he is unable to assume the image of the Prophet, upon him be peace and blessings.
So it is obligatory to be cautious; whoever sees what he dislikes, let him know that that is from the enemies of Allah, from the devils, or others. If he sees what he dislikes; let him spit to his left three times, and seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and from his evil, three times, then turn over to his other side, for it will not harm him.
The point is: that devils may assume a form to him in a dream and mislead him, and he may see what he dislikes and what disturbs him, and that is from Satan; so let him spit to his left three times, and let him say: I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and from the evil of what I saw, three times, then turn over to his other side; for it will not harm him, and he should not tell anyone about it, we ask Allah for well-being, yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
