Question:
The first message in this episode is from our listener Hasan Uthman Hasan from the Northern Region in Sudan. Our brother raised some of his questions in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks and says: What is the ruling on one who prays sometimes and leaves the prayer sometimes? Please guide us and guide the people. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: Prayer is the greatest pillar of Islam after the two testimonies, and it is the pillar of Islam. A great deal of noble verses has been revealed regarding it, as Allah the Exalted said: [al-Baqarah:43], [al-Baqarah:238], [al-Nur:56], [al-'Ankabut:45], and so on, such as His saying, Glorified is He: [Maryam:59], in many verses.
So whoever leaves it out of negligence, that is evidence of the corruption of his religion and the corruption of his creed, and that he has nothing to do with Islam, even if he claims to affirm it and that it is obligatory, as long as he does not maintain it, but rather leaves it at times and prays it at others, or leaves it entirely; this person is a disbeliever according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions, until he repents to Allah and maintains it.
The evidence for this is what is established from him, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said:, which al-Imam Muslim recorded in his Sahih. And he, peace and blessings be upon him, did not say: "If he denies its obligation," and he, peace and blessings be upon him, is the most eloquent of people and the most sincere of people. If denying the obligation had been a condition, he would have specified it. He is the one who conveys from Allah, and he is the one who points to the truth, peace and blessings be upon him, and yet he says: .
The woman is like the man in this regard. Therefore, in the second hadith, he, peace and blessings be upon him, says:Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam), which al-Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah recorded with a sound chain from Buraydah ibn al-Husayb (may Allah be pleased with him) . This is a general statement that includes men and women, and it includes one who denies the obligation or one who affirms the obligation. What benefit is there in his affirming the obligation if he does not pray? And what does this affirmation benefit him if he has neglected it and abandoned it, and is characterized by the traits of those who turn away from it? Therefore, he, peace and blessings be upon him, says in what precedes: Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam).
So it is obligatory for every Muslim man and every Muslim woman: to care for the prayer, to maintain it, and to be upright in it at all times; out of fear of Allah, and out of magnifying Him, and seeking His pleasure, and being wary of His punishment (Glorified and Exalted is He) , and to distance oneself from imitating the polytheists who leave it. And the man, in addition to this, must maintain it in the mosques, in the houses of Allah, with his Muslim brothers. He does not pray in his house. Praying in the house involves imitating the people of hypocrisy. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says:Sunan Ibn Majah 797Sahih (Darussalam), meaning: to come to them in the mosques.
And he, peace and blessings be upon him, says:Sunan Ibn Majah 791Sahih (Darussalam), and that is only because of the greatness of the danger and the greatness of the crime in leaving the prayer with the congregation in the mosques of Allah. And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Bulugh al-Maram 2:308, and this is a severe warning. A blind man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have no guide to lead me to the mosque. Do I have a dispensation to pray in my house? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: Sahih Muslim 653 He said: Yes. He said: , which Muslim recorded in his Sahih. And in another narration outside of Muslim, he, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Sunan Abi Dawud 552Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani). So if a blind man who has no guide to lead him is told by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: , and he says: Sunan Abi Dawud 552Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani), then what about the state of the seeing, healthy man? The matter is great.
So it is obligatory for men to fear Allah, and to attend the prayer with the Muslims in the mosques of Allah. It is a great religious practice that he establishes with his brothers in the houses of Allah ...... This great knowledge is one of the signs of Islam. He gathers with his brothers and sees them, and cooperates with them in good, and encourages the lazy one. For if this one prays in the mosque and this one prays in the mosque and this one; the people are encouraged, and they cooperate in good, and they perform this great obligatory duty in the houses of Allah. And if this one is lazy and this one is lazy; others follow him, such as sons, brothers, servants, and others; so he will bear like their sins in their following his example; because he has called them by his action to leave this obligatory duty in the mosques.
So it is obligatory for every person to fear Allah and to watch over Allah, and to pray in the mosque with the Muslims. Even if he is great in his own self, even if he is a merchant, even if he is a ruler, the command of Allah is above everyone. It is obligatory for every person among the believers to fear Allah, and to watch over Allah, and to perform this prayer in the houses of Allah with his brothers, and to oversee his children and servants so that they pray with him in the mosques. This is how the Muslim fears Allah and advises with the fear of Allah, and obliges those under his authority to fear Allah.
And so the woman cares for this. She prays the prayer at its time, and she cares for her daughters, her maids, and her sisters. She oversees them, and obliges them with what Allah has made obligatory upon them of praying at its time.
And because of the greatness of its status and because it is the pillar of Islam; the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, made it clear that whoever leaves it is a disbeliever, even if he affirms its obligation. This is the correct position held by the known Imams of hadith. And the noble Tabi'i Abdullah ibn Shaqiq al-'Iqili mentioned it from the Companions, saying:, meaning: because of the greatness of its status. We ask Allah for guidance and success for our Muslim brothers and for us all. Yes.
The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.

As for what follows: Prayer is the greatest pillar of Islam after the two testimonies, and it is the pillar of Islam. A great deal of noble verses has been revealed regarding it, as Allah the Exalted said:
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.
And establish prayer and give zakah and obey the Messenger - that you may receive mercy.
Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing
But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -
So whoever leaves it out of negligence, that is evidence of the corruption of his religion and the corruption of his creed, and that he has nothing to do with Islam, even if he claims to affirm it and that it is obligatory, as long as he does not maintain it, but rather leaves it at times and prays it at others, or leaves it entirely; this person is a disbeliever according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions, until he repents to Allah and maintains it.
The evidence for this is what is established from him, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said:
Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.
Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.
The woman is like the man in this regard. Therefore, in the second hadith, he, peace and blessings be upon him, says:

العهد الذي بيننا وبينهم الصلاة، فمن تركها فقد كفرThe covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.

The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the 'Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer. If only they knew what (reward) there is in them, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.
And he, peace and blessings be upon him, says:
I was thinking of commanding that the call to prayer be given, then I would tell a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go out with some other men carrying bundles of wood, and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down around them.
Whoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.
Do you hear the call to prayer?
