Ruling on wiping over socks for prayer and then removing them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister asks and says: What is the method of wiping over the socks? For example, I perform wudu for the Fajr prayer, then I put on the socks and wipe over them when performing wudu for the Zuhr prayer at school, where I work as a teacher. When I return home, I take them off and perform the usual wudu. Is this permissible?

Answer: There is nothing wrong with that; there is no blame on you.

The presenter: Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh: One who wears khuffayn (leather socks) or socks may, if he wishes, keep them on for a day and a night while he is resident and not traveling. Or he may take them off whenever he wishes, even if he has only prayed once while wearing them. However, he has a dispensation (rukhsah) to keep them on for twenty-four hours after wiping, following the occurrence of ritual impurity and the wiping, for a day and a night. The traveler has three days, meaning seventy-two hours, three days and their nights, following the occurrence of ritual impurity and the wiping. So the result is that there is nothing wrong with wiping over them for one or two times and then removing them; there is no blame on you. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
