Introduction of Shaykh Abu Malik to Shaykh Hamdi 'Abd al-Majid al-Salafi on the occasion of his visit to Shaykh al-Albani in Amman

The questioner: All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the badness of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides is not to be led astray, and whoever He leaves to stray is not to be guided. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows:
The best of speech is the Book of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are their innovations. Every innovation is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
First, and before we begin presenting the questions we wish to put to our Shaykh, Abu 'Abd al-Rahman (may Allah prolong his life, extend his obedience through good deeds, and make him a hope for this Ummah, just as our righteous, good, and pious scholarly predecessors were a hope for it), I say that before that, we must introduce to our brothers present one of the luminaries of knowledge in this time, namely our brother Shaykh Hamdi 'Abd al-Majid al-Salafi, the well-known researcher in the sciences of the Sunnah. He is from Iraq, from northern Iraq, and also from the Kurds of Iraq, from the people of Kurdistan. He has been a guest among us, and his presence brought blessing upon us. We enjoyed his company for days and nights, and he visited our brothers here and there, and they honored him—may Allah honor them. However, his honor of them, or for them, was greater than their honor of him, for he sought them out in their homes, stayed as a guest in their houses, and gave them from what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) bestowed upon him of knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah. I say that, in truth, his departure from us tomorrow, or tomorrow morning, is undoubtedly a sad and painful matter, but such is the world: arrival and departure. And if our brother lived among us for this short period, in which we did not feel the passing of its hours, minutes, nights, or days, then we too—wherever he may be, if Allah wills—have a connection to him. A heart that circles around us in the hours of the night and the edges of the day, reminding us of the good connection and meetings, in absence and presence, and in testimony, of our righteous Salaf. I ask Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to make him a good store, to strengthen him, and to increase what Allah has bestowed upon him of knowledge, and to extend to him the strength of memory and retention, and the strength of the body in general, so that he may be, if Allah wills (Mighty and Majestic), one whose giving is continuous and eternal, until we all meet Allah as His righteous, pious slaves meet Him. And in truth, I am saying something here that perhaps I have not seen our Shaykh (may Allah bless him) do for the attendees: coming to where our brothers invite him, as I saw him do this time. If this indicates anything, it indicates that our brother Shaykh Hamdi has a good standing with our Shaykh. This is a matter known by those who have tasted it, as it is said, "Whoever has tasted knows." That is the secret, the secret between them, a secret that is apparent to people and not hidden. We hope that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will increase them in firmness, strength, and steadfastness over the days. Our Shaykh (may Allah bless you), we want to save our brothers time by hastening with the questions they wish to ask, and perhaps thinking may stop at a limit in a question not written for our brothers, one that he cannot give its due in terms of presentation.
