The time for beginning to wipe over the leather socks

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In his second question, he says: When does the wiping over the leather socks begin? Is it from the time of putting them on? Or from the time of the state of ritual impurity? Or from the first wiping after the state of ritual impurity? Which of these is the stronger position, O honorable Shaykh? And what is the evidence for that? May Allah reward you.

Answer:
This is the stronger position: that it begins from the wiping after the state of ritual impurity. This is based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The traveler wipes for three days and their nights, and the resident for one day and one nightيمسح المسافر ثلاثة أيام بلياليهن والمقيم يومًا وليلة
So the beginning is from his wiping after the state of ritual impurity. As for before the state of ritual impurity, his ritual purity is not required. But if he becomes in a state of ritual impurity and then purifies himself, this is the first thing, until he completes three days and their nights if he is a traveler, or one day and one night—twenty-four hours—if he is a resident.
