Is it permissible to wear gold for one who has not paid its zakah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our female listeners. The sender (S. H. N) is our sister, and she has a collection of questions. In one of her questions, she says: My sister has a certain amount of gold, and several years have passed over it. She has not worn it, nor has she paid its zakah. She has reached the age of maturity, and I have heard that it is not permissible for her to wear it again because it is forbidden for her. If this is true, what must she do after that so that she can wear it?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon His Messenger, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no blame on her for wearing it. The one who told her that it is forbidden for her to wear it was mistaken. May Allah forgive us and him. She should wear it; she is permitted to wear it, and there is no blame in that.
She must pay the zakah after she has learned of its obligation. As for the years that passed while she did not know, she owes nothing.
However, after she has learned, she must pay zakah when the lunar year is completed. She must pay zakah on the gold if it reaches eleven and a half pounds, if what she has reaches eleven and a half pounds, from necklaces, bracelets, rings, and the like. All of it is weighed, and if the total reaches eleven and a half pounds by the Saudi pound, or more than this, then she owes zakah every year. It is one-quarter of one-tenth: twenty-five in a thousand, fifty in two thousand, and so on; in ten thousand, it is two hundred and fifty; one-quarter of one-tenth. She must repent and seek forgiveness for the negligence that occurred.
As for wearing it, there is no blame on her for wearing it before the zakah or after the zakah. We ask Allah for guidance for all of us. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
