Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to a message received by the program from one of our brother listeners, Musa Fadl Allah Salim. Our brother Musa, we presented some of his questions in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks and says: Is it permissible to perform wudu in the water troughs of camels? And is it permissible to pray in their grazing grounds? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no harm in performing wudu from the water troughs of camels, or drinking from the water troughs of camels, sheep, or cows; there is nothing wrong with that, provided it does not contain impurity that has not been changed by the impurity, just because camels, cows, sheep, or others drink from it, even wild beasts. So if one finds a stream from which camels, sheep, or wild beasts drink, he may perform wudu from it, take a full ritual bath from it, and drink from it, and praise be to Allah, there is no blame on him for that.
Likewise, regarding the grazing grounds of sheep and cows, he may pray in them. As for camels, no, one does not pray in their grazing grounds. Their grazing grounds where they reside and stand in a huddle are not places where one prays. However, if it is a temporary resting place, he may pray in it. But if it is a place where they are kept, one does not pray in it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying in the grazing grounds of camels, which are the places where they reside and stand in a huddle near the water, or the places where they reside in grazing grounds and elsewhere for their food and fodder, and the like. Yes.
