Taking from the wool of camels by the order of the owner's mother, while the owner is unaware
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20721 )
Q1: A woman says: She used to take from the wool of camels in the past, and this was by the order of her husband's mother, and these camels belonged to the brothers of her husband's mother, and people used to say at that time that if the camels drank from the water that was at their place, their wool, hair, and milk would become lawful. So, is there anything upon me, O Shaykh, since I used to take from their wool?
A1: If the owners of the camels permitted this woman to take from their wool, or if they knew about it and remained silent, then there is no blame on this woman for taking the wool to benefit from it. However, if she was taking that wool without the knowledge of the owners of these camels or without their consent, then it is not permissible for her to take from the wool of these camels. She must seek their forgiveness for what has passed and must not
return to doing so in the future except with their consent. Merely drinking by these camels from water that belongs to people other than the owners of these camels does not make their milk, wool, hair, or the like lawful for them without the permission and consent of the owners. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
