The Ruling on the Hadith of the Prayer of Tasbih

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message from the sister (M. M. S) from al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, containing a question, in which she says: What is the degree of authenticity of the following prayers, and are they reported from our noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), or are they among the matters of religious innovation: the Prayer of Tasbih, and the Prayer of Need, for which different descriptions have come in the books of narrations, supplications, and the like. Among the examples of these texts is that it was reported from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): "That twelve rak'ahs are prayed by one, either at night or during the day, and one testifies between every two rak'ahs. When you have testified in the last of your prayer, praise Allah and send blessings upon the Prophet , and recite while prostrating the Opening of the Book seven times, and the Verse of the Throne seven times, and say: 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent' ten times. Then say: 'O Allah, I ask You by the bonds of glory of Your Throne, the limit of mercy in Your Book, Your greatest name, Your highest power, and Your perfect words. Then ask for your need, then raise your head, then give the salam to the right and to the left, and do not teach it to the ignorant, for they will supplicate with it and it will be answered!' What is the degree of authenticity of this hadith? And are we obligated to act upon it? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This hadith is not authentic, and we have pointed this out more than once. It is a hadith that is not authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade recitation in the bowing and prostration. So this hadith is not authentic, and one should not be deceived by it. The Prayer of Tasbih is also not authentic.
And what is prescribed for the believer is to pray as Allah has prescribed: he prays two rak'ahs, or more, in the Duha prayer, or at night. He prays what Allah has allotted for him, and he does not recite in the prostration, nor in the bowing. He prays as is well known: he glorifies Allah, saying: 'Subhan Rabbi al-Azim' (Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great) in the bowing, and 'Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li' (Glory be to You, O Allah, our Lord, and with Your praise, O Allah, forgive me), and he says: 'Subhan Rabbi al-A'la' (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High) in the prostration, and 'Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li' (Glory be to You, O Allah, our Lord, and with Your praise, O Allah, forgive me). He supplicates in the prostration with what Allah has allotted for him, according to the well-known prayer, established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
As for the Prayer of Tasbih, it is not established. And likewise this hadith which mentions twelve rak'ahs, and contains supplication, and contains recitation in the prostration; all of this is not authentic. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
