The ruling on praying toward a fire or an electric heater

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, what is the ruling on praying in front of a fire or an electric heater? Does the person who does so commit a sin?

Answer:
It is better to leave it; it is disliked to pray toward a fire. If there is a fire in front of him, it is disliked to pray; because it involves imitating the worship of fire: the Zoroastrians. So if there is something in front of him, he should extinguish it, or place it behind him, or to his right, or to his left, and not leave it in front of him. It is disliked to pray toward it, and the prayer is valid, but it is disliked; because it involves a type of imitation.

The presenter: If he prayed the obligatory prayers, does he have to repeat them, O Shaykh?

Answer: No, he does not repeat anything. No, but leaving it is what he should do. He should remove the lamp in front of him, or move to another place. And if he prayed with the fire in front of him, his prayer is valid, but it is disliked.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
