The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "The Fire of Allah, which is kindled"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : What is this crushing?
Allah the Exalted said:
It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,
[Al-Humazah 104:6]
It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,
[Al-Humazah 104:6]
Allah the Exalted attributed it to Himself because it is not the fire of humans who gather wood and kindle it, but it is the fire of Allah, about Whom Allah the Exalted said:
(49) [O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful. (50) And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.
[Al-Hijr 15:49-50]
And He said, Mighty and Majestic:
Know that Allah is severe in penalty and that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:98]
. For this reason, Allah attributed this fire to Himself because it is the place of His punishment and anger. May Allah protect us and you from it. O Lord of the worlds, protect us from it.
It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,
[Al-Humazah 104:6]
What is its fuel, O brothers? What is its fuel?
people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels
[At-Tahrim 66:6]
People and stones. Upon them are angels
Strong شداد
severe in character
they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them
[At-Tahrim 66:6]
strong in power, because they obey the command of Allah and do what they are commanded. Because they are capable. How many are their attributes now? How many? Four: severe, strong, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and they do what they are commanded. They are not angels of mercy over the fire, but they are angels of punishment, severe in character, strong in power, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, rather they are obedient to the command of Allah and do what they are commanded, so they do not fail.
(6) It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, (7) Which mounts directed at the hearts.
[Al-Humazah 104:6-7]
. The hearts means the hearts, the meaning is that it reaches the heart, and I seek refuge in Allah. Whenever their skins are roasted, they are replaced with other skins so that they may taste the punishment. Until when? Until when, O brothers? Answer, O people. Does this seem strange to anyone? This is a matter of creed. Until when is this punishment? Until what Allah wills, and forever. It is not lightened for them, nor are they helped, and I seek refuge in Allah. Listen to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, "Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment."
[Ghafir 40:49]
.
First: They are not in a state that qualifies them to call upon Allah themselves; they cannot. Rather, they asked the angels to call upon Allah for them: "Call upon your Lord."
And also, they were ashamed to say "Call upon our Lord"
Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment." قالوا ادعوا ربكم يخفف عنا يوما من العذاب
[Ghafir 40:49]
. It did not say "remove it from us for a day" or "lighten it," and they did not say "forever." But what did they say?
a day from the punishment." يوما من العذاب
[Ghafir 40:49]
. By Allah, people in this state should make the sensible person say, "Where is the path to Paradise?" so that he may enter this path. O Allah, make it easy for us and make us fit for it, and make us among the people of Paradise, O Lord of the worlds. And do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and bestow upon us from Yourself mercy, for You are the Bestower.
By Allah, they did not ask for the removal of the punishment, nor did they ask for permanent lightening. Rather, they only asked that it be lightened for them for a day of the punishment. They said:
Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate
[Ghafir 40:50]
. And when they call, is it answered? The end of the verse:
And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility].
[Ar-Ra'd 13:14]
. Good.
