What is the advice for those who are negligent in prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message containing a collection of questions, prompted by the listener Ali Ahmad Yahya Nur from Yemen. Our brother says in one of his questions: What do you say about the person who prays some of the prayers and leaves others out of laziness, saying: "Allah is Forgiving and Merciful"? And what do you advise regarding this person who is negligent in his religion? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is obligatory for the Muslim to maintain the five prayers in congregation, for they are the pillar of Islam, and he has no right to be lax in any of them. Rather, if he leaves any of them intentionally, he commits disbelief according to a group of scholars, even if he acknowledges their obligation, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.بين الرجل، وبين الكفر والشرك ترك الصلاة
And he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.العهد الذي بيننا وبينهم الصلاة، فمن تركها؛ فقد كفر
Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam)
So the matter is grave.
So it is obligatory to advise him, and that he should hasten to repent to Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) so that perhaps Allah will accept his repentance (Exalted and Majestic is He). This is among the characteristics of the people of hypocrisy, and we ask Allah for safety from it. It is necessary to be cautious, and it is necessary to warn him and advise him. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
