Guidance on adhering to a specific school of jurisprudence in issuing fatwas

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: Your Eminence, some people believe that you adhere to a specific school of jurisprudence. Would you please say a word on this matter?

Answer:
The Shaykh: In the fatwas I issue, I do not adhere to the school of any one person, nor do I rely on the school of anyone, whether Ahmad or anyone else. Our basis in this is seeking out what Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, whether it is in the school of Ahmad, or the school of al-Shafi'i, or Malik, or Abu Hanifah, or the Zahiri school, or that of some of the early Salaf.
The point is: seeking out what the Book and the Sunnah indicate. This is what we rely on. We do not rely on the school of Ahmad, nor on any other school. We rely on what Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and what the Book and the Sunnah indicate, regarding rulings. Because this is obligatory for every student of knowledge. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: We ask Allah for success and guidance for everyone. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen.
