The Prayer of Tasabih: Do We Perform It or Not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is your opinion—may Allah guide you—regarding the Prayer of Tasabih? Do we perform it, or do we refrain from performing it?

Answer:
The Prayer of Tasabih has weak hadiths reported about it, and the correct view is that it is not prescribed. Rather, a person should pray as in the ordinary prayer that he knows from the actions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the Prayer of Tasabih, where one glorifies Allah while standing fifteen times, saying: Subhan Allah, wa al-hamdu lillah, la ilaha illa Allah, wa Allahu Akbar; and when he bows, he glorifies ten times; and when he rises, he glorifies ten times; and when he prostrates, he glorifies, and so on—this is not prescribed because it is not established, and the correct view is that all its chains of narration are weak. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
