Ruling on Establishing Prayer Congregations in Hospitals

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Several prayer congregations are held in the hospital, and the mosques are nearby. Is it obligatory for those nearby to go to the mosque, or is it sufficient to rely on these congregations inside the hospital?

Answer:
This requires a detailed explanation: Those who must be present in the hospital, such as the guard and the like, the patient who is in a dangerous condition, and the one who is with a patient, are not required to go out. Rather, he prays, whether near or far, at the time of dire necessity. And if it is possible for him to attend the mosques, it is obligatory for him to attend the mosques if he is able to do so.
As for the guard, or the one who is unable to go out due to an illness where he fears missing his treatment, or matters that necessitate staying, it is obligatory for him to pray in his place:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
. If going out is not possible, they should establish a mosque in the hospital and pray in the hospital, or in a prayer hall—until the mosque is built—that gathers them. If it is not feasible for them to gather, a prayer hall should be provided for each floor where the men of that floor pray, until they are able to find a place where everyone can pray, or a mosque where everyone can pray according to their capacity:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
.
As for the person who is unable to go out due to his illness, or because he is a guard ordered to remain in his place, or because he is with a patient whom he fears will die if he leaves him, or whose condition will worsen; then he should begin his illness at the appropriate time, or postpone his illness, or remain with him if the illness has already begun, so that it does not harm him.
