Ruling on Wearing a Pure Red Garment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You said that the safer course is to avoid red if it is solid. What is the evidence?

Answer:
Some narrations contain a prohibition against deep red, meaning intense red, meaning red with no mixture at all. Some scholars disliked it, but it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore red, and he wore a red garment, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. So the matter is broad in this regard.
Q: Some people argued with this hadith, saying: It is not permissible to wear the shemagh because red predominates in it?
The Shaykh: No, that is ignorance. I say “ignorance.” The shemagh is mixed.
