Did the followers of Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab tie their horses in the Rawdah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it true, as is rumored, that when the followers of Imam Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him) took control of the Arabian Peninsula and reached al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, they tied their horses in the Noble Rawdah located in the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him)?
A: This claim has no basis in truth; rather, it is a lie and a diversion from the truth. What is known about them when they took control of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah is that they spread the Salafi call, clarified the reality of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) for which Allah sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and all the messengers, and denied the major shirk (associating partners with Allah) that many people were engaged in, such as calling for aid to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and seeking his help, and calling for aid to those in al-Baqi' from among the Companions, the People of the House, and other righteous people, and calling for aid to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) uncle Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) and other martyrs at Uhud. This is what is known about them, along with teaching people the reality of Islam and denying the religious innovations and superstitions that prevailed in the Hijaz and elsewhere at that time. Whoever claims about them the opposite of this, such as belittling the Noble Grave or the Rawdah, or saying that they disparage the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or any of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) or other righteous people, has lied, fabricated, and spoken contrary to reality and the truth.
The books of history exist and testify to what we have mentioned regarding them, and they expose the lies of the fabricators. May Allah grant me and you understanding in His religion and steadfastness upon it until we meet Him (Glorified and Exalted is He), and keep us and you away from the paths of error, for He is the One who has the power to do so and is capable of it.
And we ask Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to forgive them and all the scholars of the Muslims and the callers to guidance, and to make us and you among their followers with excellence, and to show us all the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and to show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it, for He is the One who has the power to do so and is capable of it. And success is from Allah.
